FCK United clinches Kaamatan Superveteran Challenge Football
Kota Kinabalu: FCK United clinched the Kaamatan Superveteran Challenge Football Tournament title after beating Tuaui 2-0 in the final held the Penampang Stadium.
Yap Teck Kong was the toast for the champion as his two goals in each half was good enough to upset the favourite despite being dominated by the opponents throughout the match.
His first goal came in the 15th minutes courtesy of a defensive lapse by Tuaui player.
However, his team had to withstand the continuous onslaught by Tuaui players after taking the lead and they also had their goalkeeper to thank for as he denied Tuaui from getting an equaliser with some good goalkeeping.
With time running out, Tuaui went for broke and left only one man in defence which backfired on them as Yap netted the winner from a quick counter attack late in the game.
Earlier in the semi final, FCK United beat Kapayan Supervet in a penalty shootout in the Semifinal while Tuaui beat TVFC (Tenghilan) 2-0 in the other semi final.
