Kelantan declares Dec 9 public holiday to boost rally attendance
Published on: Thursday, December 06, 2018

Kota Baru: The Kelantan government has declared a state holiday on Dec 9 (Sunday) in bid to boost attendance for the thanksgiving rally in the federal capital on Dec 8 over Malaysia's rejection of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).

Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob said this is to provide an opportunity for the people of Kelantan to express their love for the country with a message on the importance to maintain harmony in a multi-racial community.

"InsyaAllah, we will gather in peace and with good behaviour without any form of provocation and comply to the guidelines and directions of the authorities," he said after the state executive council meeting here on Wednesday. – Bernama
